Do You Know Your Skin Type?

Do you know how to care for your skin type?

When it comes to our skin, we need to use the best and most delicate products available.

Our skin is one of the most important organs of the body, and is also the largest. The skin on our face is extremely delicate, especially around our eyes, which is around 30% thinner than the rest of our face.

Therefore, it is vital to take good care of our skin, to help prevent breakouts and premature ageing.

Finding Your Skin Type :

Dry Skin - Skin is dry when the small oil glands are not secreting enough oil in order to keep the skin soft and supple. Symptoms of dry skin can include; a rough feeling texture, a tight and uncomfortable feeling as well as dull and even being slightly flaky.  This dryness can be caused by using harsh skincare products (such as soaps and intense exfoliators), age, low fat diets and even by washing your face with hot water.

Oily SkinSkin is oily when there is an overbundance of skin oil, which can lead to clogged pores, blackheads and breakouts. Typical symptoms of oily skin includes; enlarged pores, clogged pores, an oily shine to the skin and a thicker skin texture. Oily skin can be inherited, however other factors can cause it, such as; using a heavy moisturiser which clogs the pores and even over-cleaning the skin.

Combination Skin - Skin is classed as combination when it has an overactive oil production in the T-Zone. The main symptom of combination skin is usually minimal oil secretion on the cheeks, with more on the forehead, nose and chin.

Sensitive Skin - Sensitive skin can either be hereditary and an environmental skin condition. Typical symptoms can include your skin turniny red or pinky easily, itching, stinging or burning and your skin feeling generally delicate.
